My Honest Thoughts on Bar Vlaha

If you haven’t heard of Bar Vlaha, you’re not alone! I hadn’t either until Lauren Berry mentioned it to me when I asked her what restaurant she’s dying to try. However, Bar Vlaha was voted Boston's Best New Restaurant as well as Best Greek Restaurant (2024) by Boston Magazine, and also named in The New York Times Boston’s 25 Best Restaurants. People always think I’m hip to the coolest restaurants… I am anything but— hah. 

Bar Vlaha is a part of Xenia Greek Hospitality Group. They have five Greek inspired concepts: Greco, Bar Vlaha, Krasi, Kaia, and Hecate. Their mission, simply put, is for every guest to feel seen, welcome and at home— so much of hospitality is not what you serve, but how you serve it. This is derived from the ancient Greek philosophy philoxenia— the ancient Greek art of making a stranger feel like family.
